Odyssey Addiction Research Scholarship

The University of Auckland intends to offer the Odyssey Addiction Research Scholarship in 2021, which is funded by Odyssey House Trust (Odyssey), a not-for-profit organisation focussed on helping New Zealanders overcome alcohol, drug and gambling challenges.

The main purpose of this Scholarship is to support a master’s thesis or PhD student in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Auckland, undertaking research that is of relevance to Odyssey and that will develop the addiction sector evidence base. Preferential consideration will be given to research projects that align closely with the Odyssey Pillars and recovery approaches.

Scholarship Description

One or more Scholarships will be awarded, for a period of up to one year, and will be up to a maximum of $5000 for a master’s scholarship, or up to $15,000 for PhD scholarships. Payments and tenure will be pro-rated for part-time students.

Applications will be made directly to the Scholarships office and will be assessed by a selection committee.

  • Research proposal, including brief rationale to proposed research, research aims, proposed methods
